From the cool shade of the woods I looked out over the hot July fishing hole.  The fish were
all                                           hunkered down deep.  No fish biting this day.
The winter wheat field, so green,  during the early spring
morning..

forest green of
the cedar.

The old tobacco
barn stands
reflected in the
creeks' back
water.  I am
amazed how
many Brown
County folk know
our barn, having
either helped a
neighbor house
tobacco in it, or
simply snuck
away over the
years for a
peaceful drive
down a country
back road.

The creek runs
high, filled with
spring rain.
